CONS:– CLICK. This is what anyone and everyone will hear if you attempt to mute your microphone, which ruins the entire purpose of being quiet. It hasn't mattered if I was on Discord with noise suppression set to Krisp, you will announce your mute with what will sound more like a CLI- than a CLICK. This is because the buttons on the microphone are made from plastic, which I don't mind at all except for the click sound on the mute button. Completely dropped the ball with this feature.– Could really use at least a -10 db on the gain function. +30db is absolutely ridiculous, no matter how low the preamp volume is even a mosquito sighing would sound distorted beyond all belief.– Incompatibility with any shockmount I've come across besides the stand that comes with it (which is VERY heavy, to the point of sagging high quality boom arms), as well as incompatibility with most boom arms without stand use. I had to get an entirely new boom arm as the XLR cable kept fighting with my previous two.PROS:– Features for the price point, as someone who's dying to make ambient works having an affordable stereo microphone with so many features such as polar patterns, optional USB power/connection, and low cut toggle, this microphone is a bit of a God send to me. I will say as a matter of personal preference, the low cut removes *too much* of the lower frequencies, almost making things sound hollow.– It sounds very good. Deep, deep bass for vocal recordings. Stereo sound is the most prominent feature I purchased this microphone for, and it doesn't disappoint. You have to know how to change your phase settings though if you're not using the USB but are instead plugging the XLR into two separate mic channels, without the proper software this could be an issue.– Price point, specifically for stereo sound. I feel the need to reiterate this, as it's the only reason I purchased it. Other well known name brand stereo microphones go for at least $500, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative you could get some good use out of this. I recommend buying a new stereo XLR cable though, as the one provided is fairly short.All in all, well worth the money for what I want out of it. Disappointing in some aspects, and could be better, but I don't regret my purchase at all and I use it every single night!
