Blazing fast transfer speeds with USB-C, works with Mac (using Monterey) right out of the box. I have used Samsung T7 (2GB) and also SanDisk Extreme 2GB and 4GB externals drives (also USB-C) and while this 4GB VectoTech Rapid is a bit (slightly) bigger than either of them, its slim profile is still easy to transport and it works better and faster.About as affordable as one could expect for a 4TB SSD. Small, easy to install, and bloody fast. I have two of these drives currently and are very happy with them. I just hope that they have a longer lifetime than the failing external platter drives that they are replacing.I’ve had ALOT of Hard-drives in my life, and this one has been the best so far. I work with more media than most people will see in their lifetime, so I’m constantly uploading and working off the drive.I went through the SanDisk SSD’s, LaCie, WD, Seagate, etc. and all have had their pros and cons, but at the end of the day I wanted a powerful, portable harddrive that had 8T of storage and didn’t have to be plugged into a wall. It’s been over a year now and this drive is still going strong. As for all the reviews that say these drives don’t work on a “newer Mac”, you might want to format it first. But they 100% work on all of the new M1 Macs.A client sent me a 6TB hardrive and I could NOT open it. This project had a tight deadline so I put all my luck into this SSD to be fast and reliable. I was able to transfer all the files in 26hrs with an average transfer speed of 56mb/s. I was also able to work OFF the SSD with my video editing project without any issues. Went ahead and purchased a travel case as I do NOT want this damaged.Been using daily for over a year now with no issues. It has even survived a few drops. Great drive!UPDATE FEB 5: I have been completely blown away by this company's commitment to fixing this problem, which they did with grace, diplomacy, care and urgency. The problem turned out to be the cable. They immediately sent me not one but TWO brand new cables. Swapping out the original cable for one of the new ones completely resolved the problem and the hard drive has not dismounted since, despite me trying everything I could think of to get it to dismount. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND THEIR PRODUCTS. In my experience over the last two weeks they have done EVERYTHING right and have provided an absolute blueprint for how every business should treat its customers. It is clear beyond a reasonable doubt that they stand behind the products they sell and will go to extraordinary lengths to make sure you, the customer, is satisfied. I did not dream that things would be resolved this way and could NOT be happier. They have earned a customer for life.UPDATE: Company saw my review an immediately contacted me. Extremely determined to help at all costs and to make the situation right. Great customer service on their part and I have been working with them on solutions. I expect that this will be resolved positively and will update accordingly once the various tests have been carried through. So at this point I can say that this company KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND KNOWS HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. That goes a long way in my book. For an SSD drive at this price point, I was expecting rock solid durability, dependability and endurance. Two strikes and the count is full...waiting for the inevitable third strike. Within a month of using this drive it began to dismount itself continuously without any provocation whatsoever. It spends the majority of its existence laying flat on my work space protected from any disruption and yet it will dismount repeatedly in the middle of editing in Lightroom. It is beyond infuriating. My suspicion is that the cable is a pure pile of garbage because looking at how the connection into the drive sits, it's clear that it is tenuous at best... it is nowhere near a tight lock. On top of the random, ghost dismounting, if I so much as brush the cable with an arm as I reach for my phone, it will dismount. Unbelievable. I can't believe that 1200 buys this level of crap attention to something as simple as a cable. On the plus side, it has not dismounted and then failed to remount... in other words, it hasn't died... YET. I continuously back it up to BackBlaze because based on my experience with every other external hard drive manufacturer (one particular lesson cost me 2500 dollars to recover my data) I know this one will fail one day. Given the rapid drop in prices for SSD memory and the obvious crap shelf life of all of them, I would consider buying the cheapest one you can find and investing in multiple, redundant back ups. That way, when the drive fails (and it will) you're only out a couple hundred and you can restore from your redundancies to a new crap drive.Great customer service from the seller. My only issue is with the manufacturer (HP). The HP laptop I purchased looked great on the outside but immediately I noticed the paint began to peel on the back of the screen. I tested the audio and it was over compressed with high treble with low mids and bass.Unfortunately this particular laptop made it impossible to run business throughout the week due to poor audio designs by HP.Other than that, great customer service from the seller!Don't bother with this one if purchasing outside of the US. After sales structure is useless. The USB cable arrives so tightly wrapped that it's sure to have incurred some damage. Low and behold once you connect the device it randomly disconnects because the USB cable is faulty. The seller does not deal with overseas customers. The only option you are given is to return the product to Amazon as faulty, get a refund and repurchase the same item. This would be very inconvenient if you already start transferring data across and then the flimsy temperamental cable fails. The fact that there was a further import tax makes this too expensiveToo soon to say if the drive has a good life span but it formatted very quickly and has been backing up my data continuously since it arrived.Funcionó muy bien para MacBookPerfect size unit, and 2TB of space. Just plug it in, and backups are done!
