I couldn't believe that a 20TB SSD could be so cheap, so I decided to see if it lives up to the description. I plugged the 12" USB-C to USB-A cable into my new Windows 11 laptop and saw two drives, 10TB each. I could live with that. I began transferring video files, but the highest speed I got was 15 Mbps. (I normally get 280 Mbps data transfer rate with other hard drives). I tried my Windows 10 desktop computer and only got 10 Mbps. I got a USB-C to USB-C cable for better speed, but it didn't work at all. I can live with slow data transfer, since I'm using it for backup storage. After 48 hours of continuous video transfer, I had 2TB of data transferred. I went to play a video, but it was no longer there. The entire folder was empty! Of 12 folders of videos I'd transferred, 10 suddenly were empty. The videos in 2 folders played well. I transferred files to the empty ones again, and got error messages saying the files were already there, but the folders said "No files."I went back to my laptop, and after plugging and unplugging the drive several times and restarting the computer, the drive was not recognized. About ready to give up, I unplugged and plugged in the drive again, and this time the computer recognized it, but gave an error message indicating "USB device not recognized." I even used the "Safely Remove Drive" mode. After plugging and unplugging the drive multiple times, it was finally recognized, and I reformatted the one I'd transferred files to. Then it failed again. Unreliable; so sad, it's going back to Amazon after 5 days of trying to make it work.UPDATE: I returned the first SSD and received a replacement, which I tested, just in case the first one was defective. But I had the exact same results - super slow data transfer, at times drive not being recognized by computers, etc. This one is going back to Amazon. I had my suspicions when the price and claims were too hard to believe. I'll try again when better ones come out and prices of reliable SSD drives go down.I've got a MacbookPro. it says on the header that it works with Macs. It says on the box that it doesn't. The box is right. This is not a 20G disk, it's 2 10G disks tied together. The Mac Disk Utility can see them, but can't mount (erase, or partition them). From the PC it seems to come up fine. I didn't go any further with it since it DOES NOT WORK ON AS MAC.This is a great idea. I'd take one for each of my macs. I was going to use them for TimeMachine.Too Bad. Stay away.I bought this thinking, "Wow. That's an amazing price!" and wondering if it was real. Sure enough, it is not. It looks like a regular external SSD, but no response, not even a light when plugged in. I don't believe there is even a drive enclosed. I am disappointed that Amazon would even let this be on their site.2 tf cards purporting to be an ssd. Not sure the capacity, but it ain't 10TBDoes anyone actually believe this is 20 terabytes?I saw a YouTube video on these and although it reports whatever Terabyte size they’re selling, it chokes and errors out when you try to copy any file to it, even a few gig.The guy on YouTube cracked one open and inside was a micro usb flash card, lol. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is! Not sure why Amazon is letting these even be listed. Buyer beware, better yet avoid! At least Amazon has an easy return policy!FAKE! COUNTERFEIT! RUN!Do your research before purchasing this product!
