So I've had this flashlight in the house for a while now to replace the irritating four D-cell Maglight that I thought for years put me in the top of high end flashlights, LOL. Seriously, family (and probably the neighbors) are now irritated with ME showing them how crazy bright this flashlight is. I won't talk about how you can substitute regular batteries (haven't even tried them) when inevitably you'll need them in a prolonged outage, but it's not called "tactical" for nothing. Our house borders on a thick forrest, and from my deck, I can see anything within a hundred yards with extreme clarity. I'm talking about picking someone out of a lineup lol. Highly recommended if you've only owned a garden variety flashlight in your life, like me! I'm sure there are even higher end flashlights, but I'm just as sure this is all you'll need for "civilian" use.
