I bought this hub after my Lyfnlove hub failed. As I look back on the Lyfnlove hub, I should have unplugged all the external drives I had connected to it before I connected the hub USB to my computer (I travel between a couple of places and bring my laptop / external drives / hub with me when I switch locations). The Lyfnlove hub surged and ended up frying itself. I also have one of my external drives that no longer powers up.This SIIG hub was recommended in a couple of the reviews of the Lyfnlove hub. I haven't gone back to review the Lyfnlove hub, but this SIIG hub accesses my external drives much faster, and I believe is a much more stable hub. I'm very impressed!
